Judith Hartmann is an Operating Partner at Sandbrook and has extensive experience in the energy sector. Judith was Deputy CEO and Group CFO (2015-2022) and interim Co-CEO (2020) at Engie where she co-developed the energy transition strategy towards renewables and energy infrastructure.
Ms. Hartmann held P&L responsibility for the North American and UK/Ireland business units. Prior to Engie, Ms. Hartmann was Group CFO at Bertelsmann (2012-2015). Prior to Bertelsmann, she spent 12 years in increasingly senior finance and operational leadership roles at GE (2000-2012) in the US, Latin America and Europe within the healthcare and energy divisions.
Judith Hartmann began her career with The Walt Disney Company in Paris. Judith is a Non-Executive Director of Unilever and Marsh McLennan. Her previous non-executive positions include the boards of the publicly traded companies Suez, and RTL Group, as well at the private companies Electrabel, International Power, Penguin Random House and Gruner & Jahr AG & Co KG. She holds a PhD in Economics (with honors) and an MBA from the WU University of Business Administration and Economics. She has a passion for mountaineering (including high altitude), skiing and painting. She supports the Royal Opera of Versailles.
